the match: liverpool vs singapore 26th July 2009

it was first announced that tickets will be available on sale at 10am at various adidas/courts/harry's bar. i went to the vivocity adidas outlet to buy at abt 1pm. too late! east "KOP" stand tickets are SOLD OUT! *thunders and lightnings*. only south stand tickets are left. *more thunders*. u know our national stadium is oval in shape. south means its further away from the pitch compared to the east and west stand. SIGH!!!!!!! but aiyah, what the hell, Liverpool FC comes singapore like how often? so south stand also not bad lah.

the match starts at 7pm. we were there at abt 5pm. and there were already alot of people. still feeling quite sad im not sitting at the Kop Stand. because got free scarf! sigh.

but slowly the sad feeling is gone, because i realised south stand also not bad. we were early enough to sit towards the side, nearer to the grandstand.

Good thing we were there early, because the players were entering the field to inspect the pitch and the bench area. very exciting! and very lucky because the liverpool bench is the one nearer to us. but fernando torres is nowhere to be seen. my brother was like,"eh? torres not here?" i was thinking, shit don't tell me he's injured. haha.

this is what i managed to zoom in. i can see carragher, mascherano, benayoun, johnson. where's Torres and Alonso and Reina??

the first half was rather dull. liverpool started very slowly. passing wasn't great, shots were not on target. when the referee blew the half time whistle, some guy in front went "OMG, my $44 is gone" hahaha. oh ya! some guy wore a Man Utd jersey! attention grabbing piece of crap. he kept standing up and pointing to his shirt and was all smiles. the name he wore was "owen 7", ok i agree that owen is still one of the liverpool greats, but man united shirt?? what an ass! hahhaa.

ok here comes the exciting part. the substitutes are warming up on the grass patch right in front of my section!! fernando torres did not appear until during the half time break, the stadium was screaming for him. and he joined in the warm up on the field.

now u know why i said our seats were rather good, because the subs are just down there warming up! i was so busy taking pictures n videos of Torres that i wasn't watching the match, one goal was scored while my eyes were on Torres. ppl around me were like "GOAL!!!" i was like, "huh? is it, oh ok". hahaha!!!

so exciting to see Torres in blood and flesh. hehe

oh yah, it was quite lucky that liverpool played from right to left in the first half, that is, attacking towards the north stand. because this will mean when liverpool is attacking towards the south in the 2nd half, and Torres comes on as a sub, he will be in the south area most of the time!!!! and true enough, he came on and we managed to see 30mins of him in action quite clearly. 4 goals were scored in the 2nd half, so we witnessed 4 goals in the south goalie area. woo hoo!!!

besides torres, the other player who received warm welcome was xabi alonso. the stadium was screaming "cha-bee a-lon-so!!", and received the loudest cheers when he came on and when he touched the ball everytime. i really hope he'll stay at anfield.

just some thoughts after reading several newspaper articles. some readers commented they were disgusted with the way people in the stadium were rooting for liverpool and showed no support for the singapore team.

eh, tickets for grandstand is $188, and the rest of the seats costs $88. do you think i paid $88 to support team singapore? excuse me, the event is being promoted as "The Kop Comes to Asia" and liverpool comes all the way from the UK and among the many asian countries, they chose singapore! its considered once in a lifetime opportunity, who knows when they will ever visit singapore again, and its not like i can just buy a ticket to Anfield, of cos i'll be supporting liverpool when they come rite?!

i don't understand what the fuss is abt, those ppl who said they felt disgraced by the love n support given to liverpool, instead of our national team. i mean, it is a EPL club vs a country friendly game. its not like its a country vs country international game, u know? if singapore plays against any country, then i will support singapore lah! i'm just saying, those ppl who paid for the expensive tickets went down to the stadium to do one thing, to see their favourite liverpool players in real life action. cheering for their idols is just natural what.

separated into groups, the players were promoting and making appearances at different places at the same time. torres and carragher were at velocity, riera n others at vivocity? and mascherano n arbeloa at courts (or something) i so wanted to see pepe reina! but i decided to chiong down to velocity to catch a glimpse of my favourite player, FERNANDO TORRES!

there was huge crowd! obviously. i wasnt one of the lucky winners to have passes inside the arena, so i was like at the fence. hahaha. at first, i only managed to see the top of Torres' blonde hair, because they were sitting down signing autographs, i barely managed to see carragher's head. so i squeezed my way through to a better spot. and then they stood up! wah!!! i see his face!!!!!! hahahah

i went to popular bookstore at compass point, to pre-order the book. haha. pre-order got special price and CD mah. hehe. i cant wait to collect the book!

oh.. the cashier stapled the receipt together with the collection card at the top left corner, so Hebe's face got 2 staple holes!!!!! shit damn it.

anyway, i also bought dan brown's Angels & Demons. i almost bought it at the bookstore at vivo city on friday. lucky i didnt, because popular got 20% discount!!!! hahaha. Angels & Demons is my favourite among the 4 dan brown books. Da Vinci Code was ok, the plot for Deception Point was kinda stupid, and i'm just not a fan of Digital Fortress. LOL. my brother said i'm siao. because he has all the 4 books liao, why i still go and buy Angels & Demons. aiyah, got discount mah! and its a good book for me to have and keep. heeee...

she is just so hot!!! hahahah.
i used to put up lotsa posters when i was in secondary school. u know, LIME magazines always have posters, i think i've put up backstreet boys, ricky martin, F4, leonardo dicaprio, josh hartnett, justin timberlake, etc. and i'll just keep replacing the old posters with new and hunkier stars. haha. and then the wall is full of blue tack stains... hahahah

now living in a new room, with the wall painted by myself painstakingly, i told myself never to use blue tacks, or drill holes or stick anythin on the wall.

but if i see a poster of Megan Fox on sale, i will buy it, frame it up nicely and hang it up on my wall. hehe!!!!


and i cant wait to see the movie "jennifer's body". haha

chelsea vs barcelona

what a match!

actually, it was a rather dull match. it got exciting only in the last 10mins. chelsea led as early as in the 9th min, and from then on, barca never looked like they were interested in attacking. until the 92nd min, barca hadn't even had a shot on target! can u believe it? so much hype for leo messi, petr cech didnt even have to make a save!

i thought the referee was blah. he got a few decisions wrong. like he should have sent of abidal in the 1st half when he pulled drogba's shirt in the penalty box. and in another instance, he awarded a freekick outside the box, when the foul was committed in the box. sheesh! and then abidal finally got sent off, for an imaginery foul. anelka went down when he wasn't even touched! but then again, abidal should have been off much earlier.

2 handballs went unpunished, chelsea had strong penalty claims.. it looked like chelsea were going to face man utd in rome... which will be boring. cos last year's champions league final already featured the 2 teams. i was really hoping barca would just sneak in one goal. just one goal is all they need. but chances were slim, considering they have ZERO shots on target.

then! in the dying minutes, out of nowhere, Iniesta rocketed a shot from outside the box, and barca went nuts. cech had no chance. boo to chelsea's defenders, nobody closed him down! dont they know they have more men? they should have just keep possession, or mark the opponents closely!! tsk tsk...

anyway, the barca coach was running down the field like a mourinho. it was an amazing end to the game. chelsea were leading for most of the match. then in the dying minutes, their bubble burst, courtesy of a iniesta shot out of the blue. i'd say it was a crushing defeat.

so, final will be man utd vs barcelona. ok, i think barca have to do much better then today's performance. ZERO shots until iniesta's goal, its abysmal by their usual standards!

hmmm... i duno if i got the meaning of the phrase correctly.

i think i am someone who needs to be praised, if u want to motivate me to improve. if i did a good job, please say something good. if i didnt do well, at least say some encouragements, after all i did try my best. to me, encouragements = i will do better.

BUT, if you think u can motivate me and spur me on, by giving downright negative comments, bombarding me with strong words and strong tones, u are mistaken. 我不吃激将法这一套!

someone tried something like that on me today.. maybe its my fault, i didnt put my heart into the task i was supposed to do. but i felt i didnt deserve to be blamed totally.

afterwards, the person called on my hp, saying that maybe the tone used was harsh, but it was all for my good. and hopes that i wont mind.

PAH!

the best part, the person kept repeating and repeating AND REPEATING that it doesnt matter if i have hatred or ill-feelings or bear grudges, as long as i understand the logic behind it.

Oof! how kind, should i write a thank you card for this "用心良苦"计?
its so obvious he's afraid ppl'll think badly of him, so he always wants to clarify later on. uh-huh. eh, if u dont mind being the bad guy, like u said so, then dont bother to clarify lah! just let ppl continue to hate you.

when i was on e phone, i almost said "its ok, 你说的话我没放在心上, i could care shit abt what u said. if u have nothing else to clarify, please get off my line now." but i didnt say. i only muttered "uh-huhs..."

i just know every improvement i make, i do it for myself, for my own good. thats all that really matters now.

taipei trip...

i'm not sure if i wan to blog abt the ENTIRE trip in detail. lazy lah. but maybe i will put up some pictures and comment in bits and pieces... haha.

one thing i miss is this huge plate of ice dessert, "cua ping"

if u can see, its not the usual kind of ice kachang u see here in singapore. the ice is like grated or something, very smooth and easy to eat as it melts in ur mouth almost instantly. and the grated ice is not just pure ice, it's added some milky vanilla flavouring to it, so it tastes heavenly great! woo hoo! i have very sensitive teeth, and i could eat this without trouble/pain. shiok!

we wanted to try ma la hot pot, so we entered this restaurant located near our hotel. its NT399 吃到饱. ok lah, its neither cheap nor expensive. the ma la is really ma la, after a while, my whole tongue was like very numb. i had to down some icecream to cool my tongue first before continuing. the variety is not bad lah, the most exciting thing is its dessert, got ICE CREAM sticks! got red bean etc, and the vanilla coated with chocolate kind!!!!! i wished i could finish like 2 or 3 ice cream sticks, haha. anyway, in the picture, i am holding duck's blood that comes with the ma la soup. it tastes just like toufu lah, nothing to be grossed or scared of. hahaha

i am tired...

of trying to please everyone.

i've realised, no matter what i do trying to please everybody, somewhere someone will be pissed. making everyone happy is just impossible.

next time:

- i should just say "No, sorry i'm not free, i can't do it" to whatever people ask of me.
- i wont have to feel obligated to agree to accompany anyone to any event/function/应酬/gathering/outing/campaign/dates just because he's scared to go alone.
- i wont promise anything in future. so that i wont feel the unnecessary guilt later when my appointments or time gett screwed up.
- if it's none of my business, i should stay away. in case i incur the wrath of people if i'm involved.
- i shouldn't agree to do it, if i'm not exactly keen in the first place.
- i really should learn to say "No" when the situation requires it.

i'm sorry for the disappointments i caused, resulting in sufferings and pissings u guys have to bear. but in my defence, i really tried to fulfil my promise, but somehow failed cos sometimes i have last minute engagements/appts i have to attend to, or when people made me wait 2-3 hours in the dust, causing my schedule to be pushed n messed up.

i also hate it when people change their minds last minute. its like, you tell me u want to do this urgently, meet at 6pm later, but tell me at 6:30pm that you cant make it. WTF? so i just want to say, if u feel pissed, i felt even more pissed. if ur unhappy, i am unhappier than u. if ur angry, i'm just as upset as well. i also hate it when i'm forced to cancel certain plans that i had planned to do.

i cant take all the blame anymore. its just too much for me to swallow all the 委屈, too heavy a burden to be responsible for all the disappointments when things don't work out.
i cant help it, i cant save myself liao. but u can still save urself from further sufferings. next time don't jio me or ask me to accompany u to anything. its only this way, that i wont cancel on u.

- i have to watch this! although movies of this kinda genre tend to be bombed by critics (remember jean-claude van damme's street fighter movie 15 years ago? LOL. or mortal kombat movie? yah.. haha), i want to watch this because of kristin kreuk!

2) Paul Blart: Mall Cop
19th March
- i like kevin james, he's so funny! so far, i like the comedy movies he was in, like chuck and larry, and hitch. real comedy there. haha

3) Fast and Furious
9th april
- the original cast is back! of the F&F series, i like the 1st one the most. tokyo drift was awful! lol. looking forward to seeing jordana brewster in it. woo hoo.

4) 17 Again
16th april
- ok, i am NOT watching this because of zac efron. its more abt matthew perry! haha, i know he'll probably have little screen time, because as the title of the movie suggests, it will feature more of zac. and i have always wondered, what'll happen if i am 17 again. hmmm...

5) X-Men Origins: Wolverine
29th april
- initially i wasn't like "eh, i HAVE to watch this" when the trailer came out. wasn't super keen, but after seeing hugh jackman's openin at the recent oscars, he screamed "i'm WOLVERIIINEeee!!!" he was so charming that i was like, ok i will go see wolverine. haha.

6) Angels & Demons

- i read the book a few years ago. i totally don't remember the plot and story, only knew its got something to do with the "illuminati". LOL! i dun know if i should re-read the book before i catch the movie.

7) Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian

- i love the 1st installment! i have to check this sequel out.

8) Terminator Salvation

- i am quite a fan of the terminator series. but not sure if this terminator movie will be the same without arnold schwarzenegger..

- this should be the blockbuster of 2009. so needless to say anymore, i HAVE to watch it. haha

10) Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

- i'm a fan of the harry potter series, i have read 6 of the books, the last i haven't gotten to it yet, haha. but i read reports that the movie bombed at test screenings, viewers complained that the movie did not follow the book much. OH no. half blood prince should be filled with action, but apparently, its mostly on romantic relationships stuff. OH NO!

ok, that should be all the movies i want to watch from now til July 2009. should try to cut down on unnecessary self entertainment expenses. haha. the rest of the movies i probably can watch on-line, HAHA!

liverpool trashed man united at old trafford. WAhahHAHAHa!!!

liverpool still has a long way to catch up with united at the top, but there's always a chance that united starts going downhill, because now everyone knows united are NOT invincible, they CAN be beaten. hehe!!!

liverpool trashed real madrid

that was the headlines on The Sun online.

we TRASHED real 4-0!

i stayed up late for the match, hoping it would be a great and exciting one to watch, and it was really exciting! liverpool attacked from the start, quick passing and fast momentum. u know some champion league games can be so slow and unbearable to watch? haha. but barely few minutes into the game, casillas already had to make 2 world class saves. woo! i had 2 thoughts on my mind. 1st, is it gonna be one of those games where liverpool just wont score because of the opponents' bloody on-form keeper?? or 2nd, that liverpool will simply trash real madrid! haha.

luckily it was the latter. torres scored the first. real's defence were torn to shreds! carragher kicked the ball high and far from his own box area, the ball was allowed to bounce once, it seemed like a non-threatening ball, but cannavaro misjudged the flight of the ball (you should see what he attempted to do to steal the ball away from torres, hilarious!), torres headed the ball, pepe managed to intercept, but he slipped as he tried to clear the ball away, and he kindly passed to kuyt (who was always in great positions, always lurking behind for follow ups), he squared to torres, who poked the ball past casillas and into the net. what a great start! FERNANDO TORRES!!! i cant help but laugh at real's hapless defence. tsk tsk

4 goals scored. against real madrid! against a team with many great players, like raul, sneijder, robben, van der vaart (oh my dear super van der vaart!!!), casillas (my idol!!!). but somehow, pool managed to limit their shots taken. i think in the 1st half, pool had like 7 shots on target, and real had like 3? all off targets. lol. robben was supposedly a danger man, but he was invisible on the field. totally snuffed out real's wing attacks. woo!

u have my total respect, mr benitez. now win the champions league trophy, i know can we can do it again!!

S.H.E autograph session at east point

on 21st Feb 2009.

i was there. and i got their autograph! and shook their hands!! woot! they were all very friendly and smiley, even though they've been sitting there, signing non-stop for hours. really admire their professionalism. they made a point to smile at every fan, which is quite something.

i took alot of photos and videos. very fulfilling ones, bcos i borrowed my brother's digi camera. heh heh, must be prepared this time, after the blurry video i took at the airport. sigh.

anyway, i will never forget the scene where Hebe looked at me, smiled, and shake hands with me. i will probably replay that scene in my mind time and again, so that i will forever remember it and bring that memory with me until i breathe my last. haha.

i took a video of them coming out the arrival hall. i was standing rite at the railing, 1st row and best spot. haha. taking photos is no use, because they walked so fast, by the time u press ur camera's button, all you get is probably one flashy and blurry photo.. unless you have the paparazzi kind of equipment, where the shutters go so fast. ella was the first to come out, she was already waving to us when they were still inside the luggage belt area. she said "hello!" very lively. very sporty outfit with sneakers.


aiya very blur i know, what to do? my video recorder also not the powerful, and they walked by so fast! selina wore sunglasses, a cute long pink skirt, with running shoes! she said "hello" and u know what, she was waving at me!

closely behind selina is hebe, also casual and sneakers. she had 2 policemen by her sides, and this dumbo crew guy had to block my view. hebe did not speak. in fact, she looked very groggy, very tired.. she wore degree specs, and her eyebags were heavy, she didnt say anything all the way, just smiled. and i swear, she was LOOKING AT ME when she sorta did a nod, to acknowledge the presense of the fans. haha

and then they were rushed onto the van by the security and crew. just like that, they were gone in 60 seconds. i wished they walked slower, u know? haha.

anyway, they looked just like they appear on tv. although no elaborate makeup, they don't look anything different from tv. and they are SO real! u know, like alive and 3D, and in front of me!! but i can tell you they are shorter than me. maybe i should proclaim to be 165 from now on. heh heh! and they are very thin! super thin.

boys over flowers (korean)

i love this drama!

haha. its currently airing in korean, only 3 episodes up til now. this is one of the only few korean dramas i like so far, including Full House and My Lovely Sam-Soon. to me, korean dramas are just not my cup of tea, its something to do with the sappy love story and slow-paced plot development etc.. haha.

but my my, i love this korean version of hana yori dango! the basic plot remains the same. fiesty/strong poor girl meets 4 rich and devastatingly good-looking kids. but further details and background info to each character is totally different. credits to the casting people and producers. all 4 main male actors are SO handsome! and i think this korean guy plays a very convincing character of "domyouji tsukasa" as in 道明寺. he bears a resemblance to Jerry Yan. the more i see the korean guy, the more he looks like Jerry Yan. which is not a bad thing, considering i find Jerry Yan very very handsome. haha. but he is great on his own lah. bcos the jap version is totally mis-cast. too short and scrawny and gu-niang. like, hello? how can he play the great domyouji? tsk tsk.

i have to say this again, the korean F4... very handsome!!!!! now i have to catch this series diligently every week. hehehe!!

singtel's MP3 Music Pack.

i received an sms yesterday, from SingTel service, saying my subscription for "MP3 Music Pack" will expire on 12/01/2009. i was like, what? i didnt subscribe to anything! then i remembered i had just re-contract my mobile line on 12/12/2008, so i went to find the re-contract agreement letter. the fine print at the bottom said "customers will enjoy 1st 30 days free subscription for MP3 Music Pack with the purchase of the music mobile phone. $5.35/mth applies thereafter. subscription will continue until customer unsubscribe form the service. dial *1626 to unsub"

what the f##k?? i went to seach on the internet for such a package, and i come across forums and discussions boards, seemed like ALOT of people are having this problem, and some even had difficulty to unsubscribe the service. some didnt know, until they realised they have been charged for 3mths.

anyway, i dialed *1626. an sms came in, saying i have to reply with services i wanted. i replied a "7" which is to unsub from content services. another sms came in, i had to reply "1" to unsub from Music Pack. then ANOTHER sms came in, it said "reply Y to confirm the unsubscription".. wah lau! and all these smses are to a 6 digit number. which probably means i will be charged extra cents for replying these smses. WAT THE F$$KIN HELL?? now i have to pay to unsubscribe from a service i did not even want to have? whats their problem?

i am very angry with the way SingTel do things. i know the fault is probably with the 3rd party services and contents. but SingTel actually allowed this kind of FORCED subscription? so not cool. i should not have re-contracted with them.

batman action figure

i bought this batman figurine today at the toys section in a dept store. it stands at abt 35cm. WOO HOO! i've said it many times before, that batman is my favourite hero of all time. i used to watch the batman animations on tv when i was a kid. i can still remember the theme song, which kept the suspense well, making batman mysterious and very much in the dark. haha.

anyway, i was clearing my drawers in my room, when i realised i've got 3 frikkin drawers full of my brother's toys. power rangers, ninja turtles, biker mice, captain planet, megazords, last action hero, jurassic park... WAH! to think i've wasted my drawers space all these years. and i dont find any of MY toys! my barbie dolls, polly pocket, ghost busters, dont have!!!! very sad.

i was planning to be in europe right abt now. i was looking forward to spend this winter in holland and its neighbouring countries. but i'm stuck in singapore for now. sigh. i think maybe next year liao. sigh.

anyway, i got hooked to this song by Joey Yung. "跑步机上". the song damn nice! i've been putting the song on repeat mode on ipod when i sleep. and repeat mode on my mobile phone when i'm travellin on public transport. i'm beginning to like Joey Yung, admire her style and everything. she's not the super model kind of pretty woman, but she's attractive in her way. at least i'm attracted to her. hahaha. i must learn from her!
