deja vu...

ever been in a situation where u suddenly realised that, u've been to this place before, even tho its ur 1st time there? or that u had a weird feeling that a conversation/action/scenario happened before, in exactly the same way? i get that all the time. and its almost eerie and freaked me out sometimes.

anyway, i finally watched Deja Vu, 2 days ago. i missed it in the cinemas (again). my friend, raymond said he was sitting in the theatre and didnt know wats goin on until 1 hour into the movie. now i know wat he meant. a sample line from the movie:

"we were attempting to use concentrated bursts of energy to enhance the sensitivity of optical telescopes. in the process, we had a breakthrough. given the energy, we could warp the fabric of space."

just as my brain's slowly tryin to absorb all those words, another bunch of weird alien language comes motoring out:

"they found a way to fold space back onto itself. we can now fold the space, bring the target closer to us, create wats known as an einstein-rosen bridge, otherwise known as a wormhole, suspend it via gravitational field..."

yes. digest that. and thank goodness for subtitles, cos the characters went on and on abt science n physics stuff.. can totally challenge the architect in The Matrix man!

i've said before, movies that deal with time travellin always make me end up with HUH? and WHAT? in some movies, they always emphasize that if they go back into the past, nothing is allowed to be touched or changed, and they cannot be seen, or else: suffer consequences. examples include, sound of thunder, harry potter prisoner of azkaban, butterfly effect, planet of the apes.

but then in some movies, they can totally touch n change the past! plot holes exist mainly because its illogical. like how could anyone travel back in time and den get killed or died during their stay in the past, or even lagi best, continue livin' in the past, cos den they wouldn't exist in the future to travel back in time! examples include the timeline, kate n leopold, jay chou's secret and of cos, deja vu. its ending was so NOT logical. when the credits came on, i was like "WHAT??"

anyway, it was a great movie, despite e illogical plot towards the end, i had fun watching it. it was a rather powerful movie too, cos it made me think. hahaha.

another movie i watched yesterday was "i now pronounce you chuck n larry" i watched this on my computer last night cos i couldn't sleep. the movie's so funny! there were lotsa witty lines and jokes that were actually funny. ill probably buy the dvd, its really worth getting. rob schneider had a cameo in it, and he was SO gawd damned funny!! he almost steals the show but equally hilarious were adam sandler n kevin james, this movie's a hoot! hahaha. this reminds me, adam sandler had a cameo in rob schneider's the hot chick. and the cameo role was a memorable one too. haha!!
i find some slapstick comedies a chore to watch. most of the time, the jokes weren't even funny. i was like 皮笑, 肉不笑. something like the channel 8 show on duno monday or tues, supposed to be a 搞笑 variety, with mark lee n gang. please, it was unbearable n so NOT funny. i hope it gets canned. *evil laughs*
